After an innocent AOL chat turns racy, a Catholic teenager in the early ‘00s discovers masturbation and struggles to suppress her urges in the face of eternal damnation in YES, GOD, YES.
Karen Maine wrote and directed the feature film Yes, God, Yes, which had its world premiere at the 2019 SXSW film festival and won a Special Jury Recognition Award for Best Ensemble. Yes, God, Yes the short film (2017) premiered as a Vimeo Staff Pick, received 2.9 million views, and was covered widely in the press, with the Guardian calling it "the film nailing teenage sexuality" . It also won “Best Short” at the St. Louis Film Festival. Karen also co­-wrote Obvious Child (2014), which premiered at Sundance and was distributed by A24. She lives in Brooklyn.
