Wildcat follows the emotional and inspiring story of a young veteran on his journey into the Amazon. Once there, he meets a young woman running a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, and his life finds new meaning as he is entrusted with the life of an orphaned baby ocelot. What was meant to be an attempt to escape from life, turns out to be an unexpected journey of love, discovery, and healing.
Melissa Lesh founded Emerging Earth Films in 2014 as a way to bridge the arts and sciences. As a director, editor and cinematographer, her work has been screened at film festivals around the world and on platforms such as National Geographic, PBS and Discovery. Lesh is a 2019 Sundance grantee and 2022 artist in residence at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, New York. Her most recent film, WILDCAT, which she co-directed, produced and edited for Amazon Studios, had its world premiere at Telluride Film Festival in the fall of 2022.
