THE REMIX: HIP HOP X FASHION explores the hidden figures of hip hop fashion and celebrates black creativity throughout history.
FARAH X is an award-winning director and editor, whose list of clients include Prince, Mariah Carey, and Beyoncé. Her first feature-length documentary, The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion, premiered to great acclaim at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, and won numerous Best Documentary awards at film festivals around the world before being acquired by Netflix. She began editing at age 19 and at age 20, while in USC’s Film Production Program, was hired to edit a project for famed Hellraiser director Clive Barker. Farah was sought out by Mariah Carey to be her personal editor/director. Soon after, she became the personal editor to the legendary Prince.
Farah has gone on to direct and edit several award-winning projects, with a consistent focus on women’s stories–especially women of color.
This passion was highlighted when she directed an online docu-series called SeeHer: Multiplicity, an extension of the SEEHER campaign, which won a Gracie Award for Original Online Programming. The series also won a Gold and Silver Telly Awards.
Most recently Farah directed an episode for Hulu’s recently released doc series Rap Caviar Presents. She is also currently in development on a project with Five All in the Fifth and Jesse Collins Entertainment.
