The Judge, a film by Erika Cohen documents the rise of Kholoud Al-Faqih, a Palestinian lawyer who became the first woman judge appointed to adjudicate Middle East Shari'a law.
EMILY COHN is a New York City-based filmmaker. She’s had a web series featured in the NYTimes and her first short film, Pierced, was funded by the Tribeca Film Institute and won Best Drama at the 2012 All American High School Film Festival. Emily’s first feature film, CRSHD, will premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. The film follows three not-exactly-popular college best friends who try to get laid on the last night before summer break––but their only hope is getting into an exclusive, invite-only “CRUSH PARTY.” In her spare time Emily likes running, wearing striped pajamas and trying to learn Italian. Her vocabulary so far consists of: "I am a student of cinema" and "I am staying home tonight because I am tired."
