Exactly a year ago, our supreme court, held together by a political alliance that amplifies the voices of the few over the many, overturned Roe V Wade and a person’s right to a legal abortion which had been the established federal precedent since 1973. In response, 17 female filmmakers put together 17 short films in just four short months to create the anthology GIVE ME AN A. Each short is one voice sharing their thoughts, their feelings, and their anger about losing autonomy over their body. The result is both funny and scary, and both thoughtful and emotional. It’s the voice of artists who refuse to be victims.
