Desperately Seeking Producer

Lexi Tannenholtz is a producer at The Space Program. She most recently produced Mary Dauterman’s Booger (Fantasia ’23), Stewart Thorndike’s Bad Things (Tribeca ’23) on Shudder and Jac Cron’s Chestnut (NewFest ’23) with Utopia. She also recently wrapped production on Justin Kelly’s fifth feature Pretty Thing and is an executive producer on Grace Glowicki’s Dead Lover and Charlie Polinger’s The Plague. Lexi is a 2022 Film Independent Producing Lab Fellow and 2023 Fast Track Fellow, she participated in the invite only Tribeca Festival Creators Market in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and is a 2023 Dear Producer mentee.

Mars Verrone is a filmmaker and musician from Los Angeles, CA, now based in Brooklyn, NY. As a first-time producer, Mars produced feature documentary UNION, (dir. Stephen Maing, Brett Story) which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Documentary Competition and won a special jury prize for “The Art of Change.” In 2022, Mars directed and produced award-winning short documentary “Golden Voice” which continues to be programmed at LGBTQ+ festivals and events across the globe. Mars is a Sundance Documentary Producers Fellow, NBC Original Voices Artist Mentor and Fellow, PGA Create Fellow, and Brown Girls Doc Mafia Sustainable Artist Fellow. Their work has been supported by Sundance Institute, Ford Foundation, Field of Vision, and the International Documentary Association, among others.

Monique Walton is an independent producer. She is the 2024 recipient of the Film Independent Spirit Producers Award. She produced Greg Kwedar’s SING SING, which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was acquired by A24. Before that, she produced Annie Silverstein’s award-winning debut feature BULL which premiered at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival – Un Certain Regard and was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards in 2021. In 2022 she produced the documentary feature HOLLOW TREE, directed by Kira Akerman, which premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival and won the Jury Award for Best Louisiana Film. She has produced numerous short films, including “Breaking Silence”, winner of the 2023 SXSW Jury Award for Best Texas Short, and Silverstein’s “Skunk”, winner of the Grand Prix Jury Award at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival – Cinéfondation. Walton’s films have been supported by Cinereach, The Sundance Institute, San Francisco Film Society, Austin Film Society, International Documentary Association, and Film Independent. She was a 2016 Sundance Creative Producing Fellow, a 2020 Rotterdam Producing Fellow, and a 2021 Cannes- Producers Network Fellow. In 2024 she participated in Film Independent’s Amplifier Fellowship sponsored by Netflix.

Rebecca Green produced two of the top-grossing and critically acclaimed independent films of 2015, It Follows and I’ll See You in My Dreams, which generated a combined box office total of $30 million worldwide. Green most recently produced All That We Love, directed by Yen Tan, starring Margaret Cho and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and the adaptation of the Chuck Klosterman book, Downtown Owl, starring Lily Rabe, Ed Harris and Vanessa Hudgens, which premiered at Tribeca 2023 and is now on Netflix. A 2017 Women at Sundance Fellow, Green was named one of Variety’s ’10 Producers to Watch’ and was nominated for the Producer’s Award at the 2016 Film Independent Spirit Awards. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and editor-in-chief of Dear Producer, an educational resource for indie filmmakers.
