Stephanie Sellars

Stephanie Sellars is a New York-based writer, filmmaker, and performer. Her debut narrative feature film Lust Life Love, which she wrote, produced, co-directed and starred in, won awards at Berlin Independent Film Festival (Best Romance Feature), New Renaissance Film Festival - Amsterdam (Most Watched Film), Queens World Film Festival (Best LGBTQ Feature), and Film Out San Diego LGBTQ Film Festival (Freedom Award). Lust Life Love was released by 1091 Pictures and is available to watch on most VOD platforms. Stephanie has also written, produced, and directed several short films that have screened at Outfest, Frameline, DC Shorts, Newport Beach Film Festival, Mexico International Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Cinekink and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in film from Columbia University School of the Arts and studied film directing at La Femis in Paris. She holds another MFA in writing from Bennington Writing Seminars. Her essays and articles have been published in Hobart Pulp, Defenestration, Entropy, Moviemaker, GO and the former alt-weekly New York Press. She is the recipient of fellowships from Yaddo, International Literary Seminars (ILS) and Vermont Studio Center. Her jazz vocal album Girl Who Loves is available on ITunes, Spotify and other music sites. She lives in the Hudson Valley and New York City with her movie star cat Mini-Munch, who has appeared in many of Stephanie's projects.
