Corinne van der Borch

Dutch artist and award-winning documentary filmmaker Corinne van der Borch is based in Brooklyn, where she graduated with an MFA from The School of Visual Arts. Mentored by experimental filmmaker Alan Berliner and the pioneer of Direct Cinema Albert Maysles, her work has screened in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles. Her feature length documentary ‘Girl with Black Balloons’, about the oldest living resident of the Chelsea Hotel won the Grand Jury Metropolis prize at DOC NYC in 2011. She created a video-installation for The Dominican Republic for the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2014. Together with Tone Grøttjord-Glenne, Corinne co-directed the feature length Netflix Original SISTERS ON TRACK about three Brooklyn sisters Tai, Rainn and Brooke Sheppard, and their larger than life coach Jean. Guided by Sam Pollard as her mentor and the executive producer on the film and Shola Lynch as story consultant. Currently Corinne is working on a short film for Sesame Street and in development for a project on the plains of Idaho and in the streets of Brooklyn. https://www.sistersontrack.com/
