Synopsis
Best friends Bruce and Chhay love hip hop music and spend many hours after school dreaming of making it as rappers. All they need to begin is to win a music competition.
A chance encounter resulted in them helping gang leader Samuel from a tight spot. Both boys, who lack a male role model in their lives, start to hang out with Samuel which eventually leads them to doing ‘runner’ jobs for his gang. At the same time they meet Mae, an aspiring Jazz singer, who has moved into their neighborhood from New York City. Mae agrees to collaborate with them in order to improve their chances of winning the music competition. In order to do this, they need money and this leads to Bruce accepting jobs from Samuel. As Bruce gets deeper into gang life, this puts a rift between him and Chhay who is worried that his friend would end up in jail like his uncle.
Eventually Bruce would have to choose between loyalty to his family or to the gang. When a turf war ensues, an ambush gone wrong puts him in a position where he has to decide if he is willing to cross the point of no return to save his loved ones.
