Stephanie Orta-Vázquez (they/she) is a Bilingual Latina Artist born and raised in Puerto Rico and now based in NYC, where they graduated with a degree in Acting. She is a Classically Trained Actor, a Writer, a Puppeteer and a Stage Fight Choreographer who’s created and participated in multiple works in the city and out. They trained in Poland with the Grotowski Institute and collaborated in Spain with the Institute of the Arts in Barcelona, where they also performed an original piece. Stephanie is most known for their resilience and ambition in the field, her initiative led to an online Zoom presentation of her One-Person-Show, written and performed exclusively during the pandemic. In 2021, her Spanish micro-theater plays were chosen for Desde Nuestra Trinchera, a collection of works presented by and written by young Puerto Rican artists. Most recently, Stephanie was seen in an Off-Broadway production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Everything she ever does, she does in service to all the Latino/a/e immigrants before her with dreams of working within the arts who, like her mom, did not have the means or circumstances to be able to.
