Synopsis
Each individual has their own approach to the path they’re on and how they came to be where they are, which unfolds in intimate audio, paired with poetic visuals of their life as it is now. Their personal dedication and commitment to Indigeneity, and non-conformity to the gender binary is flipped on its head: being themselves is enough. The interconnected nature and communication between Indigenous peoples historically, is echoed in these modern conversations. We tie each to the place they live through match cuts and layering their voice with sounds of the environment: from the hardness of the earth and how each person projects their resiliency, evolves a softness in what they have endured, nurturing the land with tearful raindrops, giving way to new growth. Watercolor-like footage of a Two Spirit Pow Wow providing a glimpse of the vastness of our international Indigi-queer community. The number of generations and nations attending reminds us that our commonalities and distinct differences work together to show that we are each unique, but never alone.
