Viv, 84, is suspicious about the activities taking place in her neighborhood at night. Her family thinks it’s dementia. She thinks it’s something else. When her estranged granddaughter Ez arrives to look after her for the summer, both women reveal the dangerous measures they are willing to take to maintain their dignity. Set in a rural Hawai’i subdivision, SUNDOWNERS follows two women in opposite stages of life as they struggle against what it feels like to slowly watch their autonomy -- and their legacy -- disappear.

Bio

A fiction writer, filmmaker and circus producer, Zoë creates stories and spaces in and about her home on Hawai’i island. Her work has been supported by Tribeca Studios and Netflix, and has played on PBS, Hawaiian Airlines, and theatrically across Hawai’i. Zoë is the co-founder of Aerial Arts Hawai’i, an aerial circus and performing arts company through which she has produced experiential circus concepts for clients like Benefit Cosmetics, Red Bull and Coors. Zoë’s debut novel, SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, will be published in February 2024 by MIRA/HarperCollins. She is represented by CAA.
