Synopsis

STALLING starts in the stereotypical situation of two women wronged by the same boyfriend, and then turns that set up completely on its head and with humor and heart transforms this into an astonishing queer love story. Alex and Julie are truly multidimensional female characters with flaws and growth. The setting of a women’s bathroom is also extremely relatable as a community where we often find ourselves connecting, being vulnerable with one another, experiencing kindness from strangers and seeking refuge from the inevitable heartbreaks in the outside world. The larger scale project this short film will be developed into is a full ten episode, 30 minute episodic show that explores outside of this one bathroom, where we one day will get to see the in-between moments between Julie and Alex play out in the rest of their worlds.
