Synopsis
A young lawyer, attempting to discover her roots, decides to defend a man who might hold a potential link to her past. Joe is haunted by his past, which torments his present, making it impossible for him to see any future for himself. Susan's past is a blank page that infects her present, and keeps her terrified of what that could mean for her future. Each is trying to find something to hold on to and without knowing it, each becomes an instrument of hope for the others future.
Bio
Molly Calliste is a writer and director based in New York City. After studying filmmaking at New York Film Academy, her short film “Linger”, offering a probing examination into the treatment of homosexuality in the U.S. military, was among the Official Selection at NewFilmmakers NY and Outside The Box Film Festival. "Linger" has since become the name of her production company. Her feature documentary film “Humanity Last: Refugees Still Hope” follows a group of volunteers in Calais, France, as they provide food, shelter and hope to refugees that are stranded at the border of France and England after harrowing journeys. The film has won awards at numerous film festivals, including Best Documentary Film at Ierapetra International Film Festival and Best Director of a Documentary feature at Nice International Film Festival. It is being distributed by Factory Film Studios on streaming platforms Amazon and iTunes. A documentary film, The Salt Pact, the most recent film she’s produced will also be distributed by Factory Film Studio. A narrative feature script is currently in development with Monomyth Enchantment to become another feature film for Director Manoj Annadurai. Currently in pre-production, a documentary about the French and Canadian non profit organization La Tablee des Chefs, whose groundbreaking work to “Feed and Educate” is driving a massive social change and awareness in both countries, while working to combat food waste. Filming is set for 2024.
