Synopsis
GAME ON is a character-driven feature documentary about BAFTA-winning game designer Brenda Romero’s unusual life and career in the game industry. Over half a million people watch Brenda’s TEDx talks. In GAME ON, Brenda shares her world as a mid 50s mother of an ethnically blended family of four children, passionate about making games with impact. Brenda, as CEO of Romero Games, creatively partners with her husband, game developer John Romero. She has shaped fifty innovative game titles (from digital strategy games, zombie games, to board games) in a male-dominated environment. Brenda also tackles challenging historical topics: the Middle Passage, the Holocaust, and the Trail of Tears. Brenda leads workshops for girls and underprivileged communities, and influences millions. GAME ON explores her drive and values as an outlier to the industry as she helps steer its meaningful change.
