FORCE OF DESTINY is inspired by the incredible true story of a man from East Vancouver whose life takes a drastic turn from a path of crime to one of redemption and faith. Tom finds himself drawn into the world of selling drugs at a young age and by his mid-twenties he's become a major player in the marijuana trafficking scene, operating a vast network between Canada and the US. But when a police raid forces Tom into hiding, he seeks refuge in a church, where he meets Tina, a devout Christian woman. Despite their vastly different backgrounds, Tom is captivated by Tina and begins a relationship with her, keeping his criminal life a secret. But when Tina discovers the truth, she gives him an ultimatum: leave the drug business or lose her forever. Tom chooses love over his illegal empire and starts anew, stumbling upon a career in landscaping. As Tom and Tina grow a family and build a life together, they face challenges like managing Tom’s alcoholism and grappling with Tina’s unexpected terminal illness. Tina’s rapid decline in health only intensifies Tom's anger towards God while Tina's faith remains steadfast and Tom can’t understand why. Tina’s death sends Tom spiraling into despair, selling off his estate to pay for the river of booze he guzzles down to drown out his sorrows. Homeless and on the brink of death himself, Tom stumbles into a shelter where fate gifts him with a second chance and a new purpose, but first he must learn the power of self-forgiveness.
